Rick Ross Opens Up About Drake Beef, Reignites Hope for Reconciliation
In a recent sit-down with Yung Miami on Caresha Please, Rick Ross has shared his thoughts on his highly publicized feud with Drake. The rapper has been at the center of a heated war of words with the 6 God over the past few months, and now, he’s giving fans a glimpse into his perspective on the matter.
When asked if the beef was real or just about business, Ross made it clear that he takes issue with Drake mentioning his name. "He mentioned my name, and that’s a no-no. Don’t do that," he said. "Especially when it ain’t about no real s**t. If that’s how we gon’ play? That’s cool."
However, Ross also acknowledged that he enjoys the dynamic between the two rappers, saying, "I enjoy that I can wake up every day and say BBL Drizzy or some more s*t while I’m smoking a joint, listening to the waterfalls and all that sht, looking at the birds fly off. That sh*t easy for me, but is everybody built for this? It most definitely could be a real thing."
When asked if a reconciliation was possible, Ross remained non-committal, saying, "I don’t know, it depend on how I feel… Me being boss, everybody don’t understand the opportunities they have. Some n*gas take sht for granted. I don’t know what it is. Everybody that’s been loyal to me or been down with me, you know that’s something that I extend for the longevity of time."
Although he didn’t rule out the possibility of burying the hatchet, Ross emphasized that it wouldn’t be easy. "I just think when you not really from the streets, and really understand the way certain things work sometimes, you could take sht for granted," he said. "Then, two months later sht be looking crazy for you when you really could have just… This sht just really be a phone call. A lot of this sht be a misunderstanding. But when you jump out there, I don’t know homie."
The beef between Ross and Drake began in March, when Ross shared a video of himself driving around listening to Kendrick Lamar’s "Like That" verse. Drake responded with "Push Ups," targeting Ross, The Weeknd, Metro, and more. The two continued to exchange petty shots on Instagram, with Ross even getting jumped in Vancouver after playing Lamar’s "Not Like Us" at a show.
While the feud may have reached a boiling point, Ross’s words suggest that there’s still a chance for the two rappers to put their differences aside. Only time will tell if they’ll be able to work things out.
