Nigeria’s Military Efforts Yield Success Against Terrorism

In a bold declaration, Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to ex-President Muhammad Buhari, has expressed confidence that Nigeria is making significant progress in its fight against terrorism. Ahmad’s statement comes on the heels of the killing of notorious terrorist leader, Sani Wala Burki, in Katsina State.

According to reports, Burki was eliminated by troops of the Nigerian military just a few days prior to Ahmad’s declaration. The former presidential aide praised the military’s efforts in a post on X, urging them to continue pressing forward until all terrorists are eradicated. Ahmad stated, "Happy to read that another notorious terrorist leader, Sani Wala Burki, has also been eliminated in Katsina. Nigeria is clearly winning this war against terror. Let our troops increase the pressure until they’re all eradicated, so our farms can be cleared for the next farming season."

In recent days, the Nigerian military has secured several significant victories against terrorists. On Thursday, troops of the Nigerian Army killed Kachallah during an operation in Zamfara State. The same day, Halilu Sububu and his men were also killed by NAF Special Forces near the Mayanchi area of the state.

The Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, has vowed to bring down another notorious bandit, Turji Bello, amid these ongoing operations. Turji has recently claimed to have seized two Mine Resistance vehicles of the Nigerian Army, although the military has disputed this, stating that the vehicles were demobilized due to bad terrain.

While the fight against terrorism remains ongoing, Ahmad’s statement serves as a testament to the Nigerian military’s continued efforts to eradicate the scourge. As the battle against terror continues, Nigerians and international observers alike will be watching with hope and anticipation for further victories against these notorious groups.
