NBA Africa Unveils Innovative Start-ups to Revolutionize the Sport
In a bid to revolutionize the sport, NBA Africa has unveiled 10 innovative start-ups, including four from Nigeria, to showcase their digital solutions at the Demo Day in New York City. The event is part of the "Triple-Double: NBA Africa Startup Accelerator," launched in April 2024.
The 10 start-ups will present their innovative solutions on September 25 at the NBA headquarters in New York City. Four winning companies will emerge and receive financial support and mentorship, including opportunities to participate in workshops and development programs facilitated by NBA Africa or its partners.
NBA Africa CEO Clare Akamanzi described the initiative as an empowerment for African countries, emphasizing the league’s commitment to support the growth of the sport in the continent. "We have been inspired by the level of talent and creativity from all of the applicants, and we congratulate the 10 deserving finalists who will showcase their innovative solutions at Demo Day later this month," Akamanzi said.
The four selected companies from Nigeria are Buzza, Festival Coins, Naemo Global, and Afriskaut and Salubata. These innovative start-ups will have the opportunity to further elevate the sport and creative industries in Africa for years to come.
