PDP zones chairmanship to Jema’a in Kaduna State

Kaduna PDP Zones Party Chairmanship Seat to Jema’a Local Government Area

In a move aimed at promoting inclusive politics in Kaduna State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has zoned its chairmanship seat to Jema’a Local Government Area. This decision was reached by the Kaduna South Senatorial District Executive Committee, led by former National Legal Adviser Mark Jacob.

The resolution was arrived at after a meeting on Saturday, where the 9-member committee unanimously adopted a recommendation that also zoned the PDP Vice Chairman and Women Leader positions to Kagarko and Jaba council areas, respectively. The committee’s decision also allocated other key positions to various local government areas in the state.

The positions allocated include Auditor and Assistant Legal Adviser, Zango Kataf council; Assistant Financial Secretary and Ex-Officio, Kaura; Assistant Treasurer and Ex-officio, Kauru; Assistant Secretary and Assistant Youth Leader, Kacbia, and Assistant Organising Secretary and Assistant Women Leader, Sanga council.

According to the Mark Jacob-led zoning committee, the next step is to set up an Elder Committee, led by former Deputy Governor Ambassador Nuhu Audu Bajoga, to meet with the party’s Chairmanship candidates and appeal to them to accept the outcome of the zoning arrangement. The committee aims to ensure an even and fair distribution of party positions across the zone and the state, promoting inclusive politics.

The PDP’s move is seen as a positive step towards promoting unity and fairness within the party in Kaduna State.
