Abia State Governor Orders Expansion of Mega Bus Terminal Project

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has given instructions to the contractor handling the Umuahia mega bus terminal project to widen the roads around the terminal to facilitate easy movement of vehicles. The governor made this announcement during a visit to the project site on Sunday, where he expressed satisfaction with the progress of the construction work.

However, Otti also pointed out that there are some areas that require minor adjustments. He emphasized that the roads need to be wider, with improved junctions and traffic lights, adding that the contractor should stop work around the Cooperative roundabout to allow for a review of the design.

The Abia State Governor explained that the Umuahia mega bus terminal project is designed to replicate a similar initiative in Oshodi, Lagos State. According to him, the project aims to transform Umuahia into a vibrant city with various amenities, including shopping centers, hotels, and playgrounds.

Otti disclosed that the project may not generate revenue immediately, but it will yield significant benefits in the long run. The most important thing, he said, is to create a capital city that resembles a capital, with improved infrastructure and services.

The governor also took the opportunity to thank the congregation at the Dunamis Church, Umuahia, for their support during the election and since then. He assured the congregation that his administration will continue to prioritize the welfare of the people, ensuring that every worker receives their due salary.

Otti’s comments came after a sermon by the resident Pastor, Anthony Itodo, who highlighted the importance of wisdom in decision-making, creativity, and innovation. The Governor and other top government officials were in attendance at the Sunday worship service.

In conclusion, the Abia State Governor’s instructions to widen the roads around the Umuahia mega bus terminal project demonstrate his commitment to transforming the state capital into a modern city with improved infrastructure and amenities. The project is expected to bring numerous benefits, including increased economic activity and improved quality of life for the residents of Umuahia.
