Malawi Leader Reiterates Commitment to Lead Country Beyond 2025
In a recent political rally in Lilongwe, Malawi’s President Lazarus Chakwera reaffirmed his dedication to leading the country beyond 2025. The rally, held at Area 24 ground, saw the president receive a fresh mandate from the National Executive Committee to continue running the Malawi Congress Party’s affairs.
Chakwera highlighted the significant developments taking place across the country, including the revival of the railway line, which was abandoned 20 years ago. He emphasized that these developments have earned him the trust of the people, who are eager to see him lead the country to the 2025 general elections.
The president also took the opportunity to showcase his administration’s achievements, including the increase in the Community Development Fund (CDF), improved access to cheaper farm inputs, and the revival of donor aid confidence. He also highlighted the improved welfare of chiefs, security officers, and teachers, who have benefited from his government’s initiatives.
In a poignant moment, Chakwera condemned those who are politicizing the death of late Vice President Saulos Chilima, stating that he and his vice had a common goal to serve Malawians and that politicizing the death is inhuman.
The president also emphasized his commitment to empowering women and the youth in higher positions, vowing to continue serving the country until 2030. He urged MCP members to work tirelessly to help Malawians register for the 2025 general elections, ensuring that the country’s development projects progress in the next five years.
Chakwera’s commitment to leading the country beyond 2025 has been met with enthusiasm from his supporters, who are eager to see him continue his efforts to transform Malawi. As the country looks to the future, Chakwera’s leadership is likely to play a crucial role in shaping its development and growth.
