Kanye West Leads Crowd in Anti-Adidas Chant at Latest Listening Event

In a recent listening event in China, Kanye West, aka Ye, encouraged fans to diss his former partner Adidas, with the crowd enthusiastically chanting "f**k Adidas" as the artist raised his middle finger.

The Vultures 2 preview took place on Sunday, September 15, in Hainan, China, according to The Express Tribune. This incident is not the first instance where Ye has encouraged fans to diss the sportswear brand. In August, Ye and Ty Dolla $ign performed at the Goyang Stadium in Seoul, South Korea, as part of the Vultures 2 listening event series, sparking a similar "f**k Adidas" chant in the audience.

The crowd’s chant was captured on video, with Ye nodding in approval as fans expressed their discontent with Adidas. The 47-year-old artist later commented on the situation, saying "I hope that was okay." This latest incident suggests that Ye’s feud with Adidas remains unresolved.

Their partnership officially ended in October 2022, citing Ye’s repeated pattern of making controversial remarks, including anti-Semitic rhetoric. At the time, Adidas expressed its stance on the issue, stating, "We do not tolerate antisemitism and any other form of hate speech. Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful, and dangerous, violating our values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect, and fairness."

The brands’ disagreement has been marred by controversy, including a lawsuit filed by Adidas against Ye’s Yeezy brand, demanding $75 million be returned for allegedly being deposited in accounts. Although the lawsuit went to private arbitration, various public statements have been issued, with Ye accusing the brand of selling "fake Yeezys" and using his name without permission.

In February 2024, Ye aired his grievances against Adidas publicly, citing the brand’s use of his name and unfair business practices. Months later, Adidas won a case claiming the company had knowledge of Ye’s inflammatory behavior but failed to warn shareholders about potential securities issues. Judge Karin Immergut ruled against Ye, stating that the artist’s behavior was erratic, inappropriate, and problematic, but did not violate securities laws.

As fans continue to rally behind Kanye West, the ongoing tension between the artist and his former partner Adidas remains uncertain. With no signs of reconciliation on the horizon, the public’s attention may continue to focus on their high-profile feud.
