Sony is Preparing for a State of Play Livestream in September, Insider Claims
Sony, the parent company of PlayStation, may be gearing up for a State of Play livestream in September, according to a reliable industry insider. The presentation is expected to feature updates on upcoming games, including a remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn.
Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb, in the latest episode of the Game Mess Mornings podcast, stated that the next State of Play presentation is “almost certainly” happening on September 24. This aligns with his earlier claims that Sony was preparing a State of Play livestream for September.
Although Sony has not officially announced its plans for the broadcast, the company is expected to reveal the remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn in the coming weeks after the game surfaced on the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) website. The remaster was first rumoured to be in development in 2022.
According to Grubb, Sony may also announce a separate remaster project for one of its games at the State of Play livestream. The presentation will likely feature updates on upcoming titles from third-party studios.
Sony recently held a technical presentation to unveil the PlayStation 5 Pro, which will be available to pre-order from September 26 and launch in select markets on November 7. The company has faced criticism for its strategy of releasing several remasters and remakes of its existing games.
The upcoming State of Play livestream is expected to provide insight into Sony’s plans for the future of PlayStation, including updates on its games and console hardware. Fans of the gaming platform will be eagerly awaiting the presentation to learn more about the company’s upcoming releases.
