The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is gearing up to ensure a peaceful and credible local government election in Enugu State this Saturday. According to the Commandant of the NSCDC Enugu State Command, Cyprian Otoibhi, the agency has deployed a total of 984 personnel to carry out their duties.
Otoibhi emphasized the importance of harmonious collaboration with other security agencies to guarantee a smooth and credible election process. He briefed his officers on their duties, responsibilities, and the need to uphold professionalism and integrity throughout the exercise.
In a press conference on Friday in Enugu, Otoibhi also appealed to party officials, party faithful, and the electorate to cooperate with security agents and provide actionable intelligence to help secure election officials and materials.
The NSCDC Commandant General, Ahmed Audi, extended his goodwill to all officers and men of the Corps and sister security agencies involved in election duties.
Otoibhi encouraged all NSCDC personnel to perform their duties with dedication and commitment, stressing the crucial role the public plays in achieving a peaceful and orderly election.
