Enyimba Eyes Confidence-Boosting Win as They Host Etoile Filante

Nigeria’s Enyimba FC is looking to ride the momentum from their inaugural 0-9 victory over Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso in the first leg of their second preliminary round tie. Midfielder Daniel Daga is hopeful that his team can take the crucial second leg as well, booking their ticket to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage with a confidence-boosting win.

The People’s Elephant will welcome their Faso opponents to the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria, for the second leg showdown scheduled for Sunday. Despite shipping nine goals in the first encounter, Enyimba’s Yemi Olanrewaju believes his players are capable of bouncing back and claiming a crucial advantage.

“We understand Etoile Filante are a strong team, but our single-minded focus is to claim the win and advance to the group stages,” Enyimba midfielder Daga said, speaking candidly with the club’s official website. “It’s essential for us to give it our all this time around and show African football what we’re truly capable of.”

Daga’s confidence stems from their impressive draw in the opener, which showed that, despite conceding nine, Enyimba didn’t give up. Going into the decider with a winning mindset, Olanrewaju’s unit is keen to prove doubters wrong and book that coveted spot in the competitive group stage.

With football fans in Nigeria eager for a victorious result, hopes are high that Enyimba will seize their chance and propel themselves firmly into contention. A victorious performance will also send an important message: Enyimba FC is back, and ready to become a force to be reckoned with on the global stage.
