Actor Yomi Fabiyi Leads Protest Demanding Justice for Late Singer Mohbad

In a bold move, popular Nollywood actor and activist, Yomi Fabiyi, has announced plans to lead a peaceful protest to the Lagos State House of Assembly on September 30 to demand justice for the late singer Mohbad. The protest coincides with the resumption of the coroner’s inquest into Mohbad’s death, which has sparked widespread controversy and suspicion.

Fabiyi, in an Instagram post, called on the general public to join him in protesting to pressure the police to access the CCTV footage from Mohbad’s house, citing its crucial importance in uncovering the truth behind his death. The actor stated that the protest aims to prompt the Lagos State government to intervene and set up a committee to retrieve the CCTV content, which he believes holds vital evidence.

Fabiyi urged those responsible for Mohbad’s death to come clean, accusing them of using millions of naira to cover up the truth, create distractions, and bury evidence. He emphasized the importance of retrieving the CCTV footage, which he claims stores evidence remotely rather than via digital video recorder (DVR).

"Why the police did not wish to retrieve it can be very frustrating," Fabiyi stated. "We the masses do not want to take the law into our own hands by going to ask for it, hence we need the true representative of the people of Lagos State to wade in and set up a committee to summon, visit, and bring the truth out."

Fabiyi concluded his call to action, urging people to join him in demanding justice for Mohbad: "COME ONE, COME ALL, AND LET’S SPEAK IN ONE VOICE on the 30th of September 2024. This struggle needs you. Be orderly and civil when attending."
