Rukayat Gawat, a talented Nigerian singer, has passed away, leaving her fans and loved ones in shock. The news of her demise was first shared on Facebook by cleric Alfa Aribidesi At-Tawdeeh Islamic Da’awah earlier today.

According to a relative, Jubril Gawat, who is the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on New Media to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the singer’s death has been confirmed. Gawat took to his social media account to post a condolence message, quoting the Quran: "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return." (Q 2 V 156).

The circumstances surrounding her death are yet to be made public, but her passing has been mourned by several notable figures in the music industry. King Saheed Osupa, a popular Fuji musician, took to his Instagram account to post a condolence message.
