Claims of Bribery: Bobrisky Denies Allegation of Paying N15m to EFCC
Controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, has dismissed a voice recording circulating on social media which allegedly suggests he bribed officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with N15 million.
According to the recording, released by Martins Vincent Otse, alias VeryDarkMan, a popular influencer, Bobrisky claimed he paid the said amount to facilitate the commission’s officials to drop money laundering charges against him. The crossdresser further claimed that he never spent a day in prison, having served his six-month jail sentence for naira mutilation in a lodge, supposedly arranged by his godfather.
However, Bobrisky has categorically denied the claims, stating the recording is fake. On his Instagram page, Bobrisky wrote, “My attention has been drawn to a fake voice recording circulating on the internet that I paid EFCC 15 million naira and that I was never in prison. I didn’t pay any EFCC money; it is a very big lie. I served my term in full and I came out. Discard any false information.”
The alleged recording has left many wondering about the legitimacy of Bobrisky’s claims, sparking debate about the possibility of bribery among government officials. Despite this, Bobrisky insists that the recording is doctored and aims to tarnish his reputation.
