The 2024 Duleep Trophy match between India A and India D got off to a thrilling start on Thursday, September 12, at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur. India D pacer Vidwath Kaverappa produced a stunning delivery to dismiss India A captain Mayank Agarwal, leaving the visitors struggling at 76/4 after 21 overs.

Kaverappa’s impressive bowling display started early in the game when he struck in the sixth over to dismiss Agarwal. The right-arm pacer bowled a length delivery that angled towards the off-stump, tempting Agarwal. The right-handed batter could only manage an outside edge, as wicketkeeper Sanju Samson completed an easy catch. Agarwal scored seven runs off 14 balls, including one boundary.

Vidwath Kaverappa’s impressive performance continued as he claimed his second wicket by removing Pratham Singh, who managed seven runs off 33 balls. India A’s batting line-up struggled to get going, with Riyan Parag being the only batsman to show some aggression. He scored 37 off 29 balls, including five boundaries and one six, before being dismissed by Arshdeep Singh.

Tilak Varma had a tough time, managing only 10 runs off 33 balls before spinner Saransh Jain got rid of him. At the time of writing, India A was struggling at 76/4, with Shashwat Rawat (1) and Kumar Kushagra (6) at the crease.
