Halle Berry Shares Wholesome Story of Prince’s Romantic Gesture
Halle Berry, the Academy Award-winning actress, has been making headlines with her recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. During the show, she shared a heartwarming story about Prince’s romantic gesture towards her. The story began with Kimmel attempting to clarify a rumor that Michael Jackson once requested Babyface to ask Berry out on a date on his behalf. However, Berry countered by sharing a story about the time Prince asked her out in a wholesome way.
According to Berry, the encounter took place at one of Prince’s concerts at the Key Club on Sunset Boulevard. She recalled that Prince had someone bring out a piece of paper with a simple question: “Do you like me? Yes or no?” Berry laughed as she recounted her response, saying, “I went, ‘Yes.’ I mean, I’m at his concert!” The paper then returned with the question, “Will you go out with me?” Berry playfully admitted that she didn’t send the paper back, leaving the audience in stitches.
Berry’s appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live comes as part of her press tour for her new movie, Never Let Go, which is currently playing in theaters. In the Lionsgate film, Berry plays the role of a mother of twin boys who face an evil spirit attempting to disrupt their lives. The synopsis reads, “Needing to stay connected at all times – even tethering themselves with ropes – they cling to one another, urging each other to never let go. But when one of the boys questions if the evil is real, the ties that bind them together are severed, triggering a terrifying fight for survival.”
When asked about taking on the new role, Berry told The Hollywood Reporter, “Since I became a mother 16 years ago, playing these kinds of roles has wildly excited me. With this movie, it reminded me how I would protect my children with my life.
