APC Vows to Defend Votes in Kano LG Elections

Kano State APC Vows to Defend Votes in Upcoming Local Government Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State has announced its determination to defend its votes in the forthcoming local government elections scheduled for October 24, 2024. According to Abdullahi Abbas, the state Chairman of the party, the APC is taking every necessary step to ensure its supporters participate in the elections and protect their votes.

In a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday, Abbas revealed that the party will soon organize its primary elections to pave the way for the emergence of candidates for the elections across the 44 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the state. He emphasized that the APC is mobilizing its supporters to participate in the elections, with a focus on protecting votes and ensuring a peaceful process.

Abbas also appealed to the state electoral commission to provide an enabling environment for all participating political parties, ensuring a free, fair, and credible electoral process. He demanded equal opportunity for all contestants to participate without bias and a transparent electoral process, as well as a peaceful atmosphere for the entire elections.

The APC chairman also announced that the party has embarked on a house-to-house sensitization campaign to encourage its supporters to come out en masse and participate in the elections. He urged party supporters to shun all forms of violence before, during, and after the elections, and warned that the party will not tolerate any form of intimidation during the electoral process.

Kano State remains a stronghold of the APC, and the party is determined to maintain its lead. Abbas urged the electoral commission to ensure the integrity of the electoral process, which is crucial for Nigeria’s democratic development.

The APC’s commitment to defending its votes and ensuring a peaceful electoral process is a significant development in the lead-up to the local government elections in Kano State. As the party continues to mobilize its supporters and prepare for the elections, it remains to be seen how the other political parties will respond to the APC’s efforts.
