Kano State Governor Mourns Police Officers Killed in Motor Accident
Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the five police officers who tragically lost their lives in a motor accident on Tuesday while returning from Edo State. The governor, accompanied by senior government officials, visited the Bichi Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force to pay his respects to the bereaved families and those injured in the incident.
According to a press statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, Yusuf prayed for the departed souls to receive eternal rest in Jannatul Firdausi, a speedy recovery for the injured, and for such incidents to be prevented in the future.
In addition to his condolence message, the governor also donated N500,000 to each of the families of the five deceased officers and N250,000 to each of the 11 injured officers. The tragic incident occurred when the police officers were traveling back to Kano State after the governorship election in Edo State.
