Title: Jasprit Bumrah Takes Second Wicket of the Innings as India Seek Series Win Against Bangladesh

Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has continued to impress in the ongoing second Test against Bangladesh, dismissing Mehidy Hasan Miraz for the second time in the match. This time, wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant completed the catch instead of Shubman Gill, who took the catch in the first innings.

The dismissal came in the 37th over of Bangladesh’s second innings, with Bumrah bowling a full-length ball that angled in and straightened. Miraz was stuck on the crease, managing a faint outside edge as Pant completed a regulation catch towards his right side. This was Bumrah’s first wicket of the innings, having taken three wickets in the first innings.

Bumrah has been the pick of India’s bowlers in the match, bagging five wickets including a four-wicket haul in the first Test, which India won by 280 runs. The 30-year-old remains critical to India’s success in the upcoming Test series against New Zealand (home) and Australia (away).

In a post-match interview, Bumrah expressed his desire to deliver in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy later this year. He stated that the Bangladesh series will be a good preparation for the upcoming Tests, especially against Australia.

"It’s important to be smart (to stay fit for Australia) because we had a long break after the T20 World Cup. I didn’t play a lot of cricket, I was preparing for the big Test season. It’s good to get some overs under the belt," Bumrah said.

He also highlighted the importance of building his overs and getting ready for the Australian series, stating, "The number of overs to be bowled will be a lot more in Australia than in India. You keep playing and getting into the groove. By the time you reach Australia, firing on all cylinders."

Bumrah has always preferred the Test format, saying, "My favorite format is the Tests; I’ve always said that. I wanted to play this format for a long period of time and I am doing it. I’m trying to give my absolute best in this format."
