Nigerian Students Show Solidarity on Independence Day
On Tuesday, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) staged a solidarity march in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to mark the country’s 64th Independence Day anniversary. Led by NANS President, Comrade Lucky Emonefe, the march aimed to express pride in Nigeria, gratitude for its survival, and celebrate the country’s achievements.
Emonefe addressed journalists during the exercise, calling on the Federal Government to enhance security measures in all campuses across the country. He noted that while Nigeria has made progress since its independence, there is still much to be done. The NANS President also commended the President Bola Tinubu-led government for the ongoing student loan scheme and the provision of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses to ease transportation.
The solidarity march served as a statement of national pride and a declaration of Nigerian students’ commitment to supporting their country’s progress. Emonefe emphasized that true patriotism involves not only supporting leaders but also expressing reservations over specific actions or policies.
The NANS President’s remarks reflect the sentiments of many Nigerian students, who are determined to play a positive role in shaping their country’s future. The solidarity march is a testament to their commitment to national unity and progress.
As Nigeria looks to the future, it is clear that the nation’s youth will play a crucial role in driving forward its development. The solidarity march is a powerful expression of their solidarity and patriotism, and a reminder of the importance of working together to build a brighter future for all Nigerians.
