Iran Resumes Flights After Brief Suspension Amid Escalating Tensions with Israel

Iran resumed domestic and international flights on Thursday, just days after launching a missile attack on Israel, according to state media reports. The country’s Civil Aviation Organisation (CAO) confirmed that flight operations had resumed after ensuring favourable and safe flight conditions.

The Islamic Republic launched 200 missiles at Israel on Tuesday night, marking its second direct military strike on the country. The first attack occurred in April and involved a combined missile and drone attack. Flights were grounded across Iran due to security concerns, but operations resumed at 5:00 a.m. local time (0130 GMT) on Thursday.

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has advised European carriers to avoid Iranian airspace until at least October 31, pending further review. Similar warnings have been issued for air travel over Israel and Lebanon.

Jafar Yazarloo, a spokesman for Iran’s CAO, confirmed the decision, stating, “After ensuring favourable and safe flight conditions, airlines are allowed to carry out flight operations.” The quote was attributed to the official IRNA news agency.

The recent tensions between Iran and Israel have raised concerns about the safety of air travel in the region. The EASA’s advisory comes as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of European passengers and crew.

As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how this latest development will impact international air travel and relations between Iran and Israel. For now, flights have resumed in Iran, but the uncertainty surrounding the region’s aviation safety remains a pressing concern.
