Offa Community Demands Further Investigation into Bank Robbery

Nigerian Community Calls for Investigation into Offa Bank Robbery

In a dramatic turn of events, the Offa Descendants’ Union (ODU) has called on the Kwara State Government to accelerate the execution of the judgment delivered by the Kwara State High Court regarding the April 5, 2018 Offa bank robbery. The union, which represents the community directly affected by the heist, has also demanded further investigation into the incident.

According to a press release issued by the ODU, the community is displeased with the way the police investigation into the crime was handled. Despite welcoming the death sentence passed on the five convicted suspects, the community is convinced that the investigation is incomplete. The union believes that high-ranking individuals are being covered up, and therefore demands a thorough probe to ensure justice is served.

“This is a major concern for our community, and it is a very important course we have resolved to pursue to a logical conclusion,” said Chief Tajudeen Lanre Shittu, the ODU’s chairman. The community has identified two key areas they would like the investigation to focus on: the supply of the vehicle used during the robbery and the identities of those mentioned by the convicted persons during their trial.

The ODU wants the Kwara State Government to revisit the incident to remove the public impression that the police investigation is incomplete. The community has remained unsatisfied with the initial investigation, believing it only scratched the surface of a larger conspiracy.
