Fed Govt Vows to Create 1M Jobs for Nigerian Youths

Nigeria Aims to Create One Million Jobs, Boost Youth Participation in Insurance Sector

The Nigerian government has pledged to create one million jobs as part of its efforts to tackle youth unemployment across the country’s 774 local government areas. This initiative is focused on empowering young Nigerians to access careers and opportunities in the insurance sector, leveraging the power of digital technology.

Ayodele Olawande, the Minister of State for Youth Development, made the announcement on Friday in Abuja. According to Olawande, the government is committed to educating, inspiring, and connecting Nigerian youths to the insurance sector, with the aim of creating jobs and enhancing financial inclusion.

This ambitious plan comes on the heels of another major development, as the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) has revealed that the government will launch a new rural electricity project, bankrolled by the World Bank, starting in November. The project aims to provide electricity to 17.5 million Nigerians, marking a significant step towards bridging the energy gap in the country.

The Nigerian government’s commitment to creating jobs and promoting youth participation in the insurance sector is a crucial step towards addressing the country’s significant youth unemployment challenges. By leveraging digital technology and promoting financial inclusion, the government hopes to unlock new opportunities for young Nigerians and drive economic growth.

With this initiative, Nigeria joins a growing list of African countries that are prioritizing youth employment and entrepreneurship. As the government continues to implement its plans, it will be essential to monitor progress and identify areas where support can be provided to ensure the success of this initiative.
