Trump’s Latest Inflammatory Rhetoric on Immigrants Sparks Outrage

Donald Trump’s inflammatory remarks on immigrants continue to stir controversy as the 2024 US presidential election heats up. In a recent radio interview, the former reality TV star and current candidate criticized his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris, claiming that illegal immigrants were bringing “bad genes” into the United States.

Trump’s comments came in response to government figures showing 13,000 immigrants with homicide convictions living in the US, despite not being in federal immigration detention. However, he misconstrued the data, failing to acknowledge that the figures don’t include individuals incarcerated outside of ICE facilities and cover a period spanning decades.

Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric is nothing new. Throughout his campaign, he has consistently demonized both undocumented immigrants and those in the US legally. In a previous rally, he accused illegal immigrants of being “animals” and threatened legal Haitian residents in Ohio with deportation, falsely accusing them of eating locals’ pets.

Conservative political commentator Richard Hanania, president of the Center for the Study of Partisanship and Ideology, acknowledged that Trump’s statements are often misleading, but he believes that crime is largely genetic. Hanania encouraged Trump to learn about the low crime rate among immigrants and consider the implications.

Despite Trump’s inflammatory remarks, US media reported that migrant apprehensions at the US-Mexico border fell 75 percent year-on-year in September, reaching the lowest level since the Trump administration. This trend suggests that border security measures may be having a positive impact.

As the election approaches, Trump’s rhetoric on immigrants will undoubtedly continue to be a major issue. His divisive comments have sparked outrage among many, and it remains to be seen how voters will respond to his inflammatory rhetoric in the coming weeks.
