Lukaku Preferred Over Osimhen at Napoli

Napoli’s Lukaku a Better Fit than Osimhen, Says Former Striker Denis

Romelu Lukaku’s transfer to Napoli has been met with positive reactions, with former striker German Denis stating that the Belgian international is a better fit for the club than Victor Osimhen.

Denis, who played for Napoli between 2007 and 2014, believes that Lukaku has already settled in well at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium. The former Napoli player attributes Lukaku’s success to his selflessness on the pitch. “We saw a Lukaku in form, even if Conte knows perfectly well what he lacks. He is a Lukaku who is very generous; he plays for the team,” Denis told Radio Kiss Kiss. “Yesterday, he made two assists as an attacking midfielder.”

Lukaku joined Napoli on a permanent transfer from Chelsea this summer, while Osimhen left the club to join Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal. Denis does not believe that Osimhen would have been a suitable replacement for Lukaku at Napoli. “Lukaku in place of Osimhen? I don’t know if Osimhen would have been as suitable for Napoli as Lukaku is with Conte. Napoli made the right choice,” Denis said.

Under Lukaku’s guidance, Napoli has surged to the top of the log, with the Belgian international already contributing significantly to the club’s success. Denis believes that Lukaku’s generosity on the pitch has made all the difference for the Italian club. With Osimhen’s departure and Lukaku’s arrival, it seems that Napoli has made the right decision to go with the Belgian striker this season.
