Manchester United Legend David Moyes Defends Under-Fire Manager Erik ten Hag

Former Manchester United manager David Moyes has come to the defense of the club’s current manager Erik ten Hag, amid the team’s disappointing start to the season. The Red Devils currently occupy 14th position in the Premier League table following a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa over the weekend.

Ten Hag’s position has been put under intense scrutiny, given that the team has played only seven league games so far this season. However, Moyes, who managed the club for just nine months before being sacked in 2014, believes that the Dutchman is doing a brilliant job. “I think he’s doing a brilliant job,” Moyes told BBC Sport. “I think he’s shown brilliant resilience in the situation that he’s in and I think he should be credited for how well he’s conducted himself.”

Moyes commended ten Hag for being proactive in the face of adversity, stating that the manager is not shying away from media scrutiny. “As far as I know, I don’t see him ducking any questions or any media interviews that you people [the media] put forward to him,” he added.

Moyes’ comments are a testament to the respect he holds for ten Hag, as well as his understanding of the challenges the manager faces. With Manchester United desperate to turn their season around, Moyes’ backing of ten Hag could go some way in boosting morale within the club. Whether his words of encouragement are enough to spark a turnaround, only time will tell.

In the meantime, one thing is certain – Moyes’ defense of ten Hag has added a much-needed layer of support to the beleaguered manager. As Manchester United navigate their current struggles, ten Hag will be hoping to replicate the resilience and courage that Moyes has seen in him.
