Over 3,100 Films Submitted for 14th Zuma International Film Festival
The Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) has received an impressive number of film submissions for the 14th edition of the Zuma International Film Festivals (ZUFF) taking place from December 1 to 5. With over 3,100 films from countries across the globe, including Nigeria, Iran, India, the USA, Spain, and France, the upcoming festival promises to be an exceptional celebration of film, culture, and digital transformation.
The festival’s theme, “Digital Renaissance: Embracing the Future”, highlights the transformative power of digital technology in filmmaking. According to NFC Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ali Nuhu, this year’s festival will promote Nigeria’s cultural values and creative economy, creating jobs, empowering youth, and fostering collaboration across borders.
Other key highlights of the festival include the Zuma Film Festival Light up Night and Opening Ceremony, NFC Annual Film Lecture, Artificial Intelligence in filmmaking session, free film screenings, and the Film Trade & Finance Forum.
Dr. Nuhu thanked stakeholders, the government, and global partners for their unwavering support. The festival director, Halima Oyelade, echoed Dr. Nuhu’s sentiments, acknowledging the visionary leadership that has transformed ZUFF into a global platform.
Stephanie Okereke-Linus, an award-winning actress, has been announced as the Head of Jury for ZUFF 2024, and the festival also saw the participation of esteemed speakers, including Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism, and Malik Afegbua, on the role of AI in storytelling.
