Relief in Sight for Motorists as Lagos-Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode Road Palliative Work Begins
For months, motorists plying the busy Lagos-Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode road have endured untold hardship due to the deplorable condition of the road. However, relief is finally in sight as the federal government announces the commencement of palliative work on the failed portions of the road next week Monday.
According to the Minister of Works, Mr. Dave Dr. Umahi, the palliative work is expected to be completed in the second week of December this year. The Minister, who was conducted around the failed portions by Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, lamented the condition of the road, which has caused significant hardship to motorists.
Speaking during the inspection, Minister Umahi assured that the federal government is committed to fixing the road before the end of the year. He stated that he was directed by President Bola Tinubu to inspect the road and take immediate measures to bring relief to the people.
The Minister emphasized that the government is committed to the welfare of its people and is taking the necessary steps to ensure a smooth ride on the road. He also commended President Tinubu for his swift response to the issue.
Governor Abiodun, who received numerous complaints from motorists about the condition of the road, commended President Tinubu for being a listening leader who cares about the welfare of his people. He also commended the Minister of Works for taking his assignment with a high sense of responsibility.
The governor assured the people that with the flag-off of the rehabilitation work, they will begin to enjoy a smooth ride on the road within the shortest time. He also announced that solar lights will be installed throughout the entire 120 kilometers of the road.
The people of the 17 southern states and all Nigerians can look forward to a smoother ride on the Lagos-Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode road, thanks to the swift response of the federal government and the commitment of President Bola Tinubu to the welfare of his people.
