Vivo Unveils Origin OS 5: A New Era of Customization and AI-Powered Features

Chinese tech giant Vivo has introduced its latest operating system, Origin OS 5, which is set to bring a wave of innovation to its range of devices in China. The latest update is built on top of Android 15 and packs a plethora of exciting features, including home and lock screen customization, dynamic effects, and an upgraded Little V assistant with new capabilities.

One of the most notable additions to Origin OS 5 is the upgraded Little V assistant, which now offers features similar to Google’s Circle-to-Search. This allows users to highlight a part of the screen by circling on it and toggle visual lookup on the web. The assistant can also take calls on the user’s behalf, summarize them, take notes, and provide transcription in multiple languages. Moreover, it offers writing tools that can be used in Atom Notes, Vivo Documents, and emails.

The OS also introduces a new feature called Atomic Island, which allows users to edit the lock screen and replace control toggles. Users can also customize their home screens with situational wallpapers, which use AI to dynamically adjust the scenery based on time of day and weather conditions. The vivo Sans Typeface has been enhanced for improved readability, and the OS now supports Greek and Cyrillic writing systems, covering up to 26 languages.

The update also includes AI-powered features for video editing, real-time translation, and writing tools. For instance, it can recognize content of multiple dialects in spoken voice and convert it to Mandarin. The OS can also support Chinese sentences into sign language using sign language recognition and virtual sign language generation.

Vivo has announced that Origin OS 5 will be available to the public in beta in November for a range of devices in China, including the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, Vivo X Fold 3, Vivo X100 Ultra, and more. The beta update will also be available for iQOO devices, including the iQOO 12 Pro, iQOO 12, and iQOO Neo 9S Pro+, among others. The full rollout is expected in December for a wider range of devices.

With Origin OS 5, Vivo is looking to revolutionize the mobile experience by providing a more personalized and seamless interaction. With its focus on AI-powered features and customization options, the new OS is likely to appeal to a wide range of users. As the technology continues to evolve, it will be exciting to see how users will adapt and take advantage of the new features and abilities offered by Origin OS 5.
