Zamfara Donates 50 Hectares for Affordable Housing

Zamfara Government Donates Land for Affordable Housing Project

In a move aimed at improving the lives of residents, the Zamfara State Government has donated 50 hectares of land to the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development for the construction of affordable housing.

The announcement was made during a courtesy call paid by the Zamfara Governor, Dauda Lawal, and his delegation on the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa, at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja on Thursday.

The donation of land by the governor is commendable, considering the challenges of banditry and insecurity that have befallen the state. The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa, acknowledged the gesture and assured that the ministry would ensure that Zamfara state is included in the next batch of the programme.

The project, which is part of the Renewed Hope Housing project, is aimed at providing affordable housing options for citizens, particularly those affected by insecurity and other challenges. The Minister noted that the project would be captured in the ministry’s next budget and assured that the necessary support would be provided to ensure its success.

The Zamfara Governor, Dauda Lawal, commended the minister for the initiative and emphasized the need for collaboration between the state and federal governments to rebuild the state. He noted that the state had faced significant challenges, including insecurity, and was determined to restore its glory.

The state government is working to improve security, with notable improvements in farm security and a decline in banditry and other forms of violence. The governor expressed hope that the federal government would support the state’s efforts, including the construction of houses for internally displaced persons and the provision of other essential infrastructure.

In related news, the Zamfara Government has been selected as one of the deserving states to benefit from the Pulako initiative, a Federal Government’s initiative aimed at rebuilding insecure areas affected by banditry and insecurity. The project, which is expected to be launched in a couple of weeks, will provide free housing to those affected by insurgency, according to the minister.

The Zamfara Government’s gesture is a positive step towards addressing the housing needs of its citizens and demonstrates its commitment to improving the lives of its people. As the state continues to face significant challenges, this initiative is a welcome development and a testament to the government’s determination to rebuild and restore the state to its former glory.
