According to Prof. Abiodun Adebayo, Vice-Chancellor of the institution, the First Class students are part of a new generation of leaders who will make a positive impact in their communities, nation, and the world. “The University is immensely grateful to God as another cohort of new generation leaders are being unleashed in the ecosphere as agents of positive change in our nation, continent and the world,” he said.
Sanni Oluwademilade, a student in the Department of Industrial Mathematics, College of Mathematics, emerged as the best-graduating student with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.99. Covenant University has long been committed to providing high-quality education, which is evident in its ranking as one of the most subscribed private universities in Nigeria. Chancellor David Oyedepo emphasized that the institution’s passion lies in providing an alternate education that rescues young individuals from lifelong crises. “As you know, we are one of the most subscribed private universities in Nigeria today, to the glory of God,” he said.
Pro-Chancellor Bishop David Abioye admonished the graduates to exercise patience in all their endeavours, adding that they must provide solutions to the challenges facing their respective communities and soar as eagles. The university has indeed modelled them to leaders, and it’s time for them to go into society and be game changers.
The institution’s commitment to academic excellence is evident in the array of awards it has received almost since its inception. As the Vice-Chancellor noted, 2024 will join the network of over 24,000 Covenant Eagles, who are already making a difference globally, building the old wastes, and raising the former desolations. As the university looks to the future, it is clear that the institution will continue to produce leaders who will shape the world for the better.
