US Conducts Airstrikes Against ISIS Targets in Syria

The US military has conducted a series of airstrikes against multiple Islamic State (ISIS) camps in Syria, the US Central Command announced on Saturday. The strikes, carried out in the early morning of October 11, are aimed at disrupting the group’s ability to plan and conduct attacks against the United States, its allies, and civilians in the region and beyond.

According to the US military, the strikes targeted known ISIS camps in Syria and were part of its ongoing efforts to combat the terrorist group, which has been responsible for widespread violence and destruction in the region. The US has approximately 900 troops in Syria as part of the international coalition against ISIS.

The strikes are the latest in a series of retaliatory measures taken by the US against ISIS, which has been targeted dozens of times with drones and rocket fire in both Iraq and Syria. The violence related to the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza has also drawn in militants across the Middle East, including Iran-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon.

In September, the US conducted two separate strikes in Syria, killing 37 “terrorist operatives” who were affiliated with both ISIS and Al-Qaeda’s Hurras al-Din. The latest strikes are the latest in a series of efforts by the US to combat ISIS and its affiliates, which have been responsible for deadly attacks around the world.

US Central Command has begun damage assessments and reported that there is no indication of civilian casualties. The strikes are a significant step in the US’s efforts to combat ISIS and protect its interests in the region.
