Breaking: Ogun State Councillorship Candidate Gunned Down in Broad Daylight
Tragedy struck Abeokuta South Local Government in Ogun State, Nigeria, with the brutal murder of 40-year-old Adeleke Adeyinka, the All Progressives Congress (APC) councillorship candidate. According to reports, Adeyinka was shot dead at around 12:30 pm on an unreported location, leaving his family and the community shook.
Eyewitness accounts reveal that a group of armed men, believed to be cultists, arrived at the scene in an unregistered Toyota Corolla sport car, armed with a pump action shotgun and a pistol. Speaking on the incident, Omolola Odutola, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that Adeyinka’s body had been taken away for burial without undergoing an autopsy or medical examination. Odutola assured that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects, who have yet to be identified or arrested.
Adeyinka, a transport union worker in the Panseke area of Abeokuta, was a vocal figure in the community, known for his involvement in youth leadership and politics.
