Unity Shines Through as PDP Governors Unite in Ondo State
The governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have reaffirmed their united front in the midst of recent leadership wrangles within the party. Led by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, the PDP governors, including Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Senator Bala Muhammed of Bauchi State, and others, gathered in Ondo State to demonstrate their strong bond and commitment to the party’s principles.
Adeleke, who is also the Chairman of the Ondo State Governorship Campaign Council, emphasized that the PDP is a single entity, saying, "We are one strong family, and leaders have met to ensure unity and respect for the party’s constitution." He urged massive turnout to support the PDP candidate in the upcoming governorship election in the state.
Makinde echoed the message of unity, stressing the need for Ondo people to demonstrate love for good governance by voting for the PDP candidate. He believes that the PDP is the best choice for delivering democratic dividends for the people of Osun and Nigeria as a whole.
Muhammed, the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, assured the public that there are no longer any factions within the party, citing the recent developments as a sign of a strong and dynamic political party. "There is no faction in the PDP. We are one. You can see how we are demonstrating love and unity. We are putting our house in order," he stated.
Similarly, the party’s acting Chairman, Usman Damagun, urged electorates to vote for the PDP in the upcoming polls. Former Ebonyi Governor, Sam Egwu, called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure that democracy is not truncated in Nigeria by enforcing free and fair elections across the country.
As the PDP governors and leaders reaffirm their commitment to unity and party cohesion, it remains to be seen whether their message will resonate with the electorate in Ondo State and beyond.
