Nigeria’s Aviation Sector Sees Hope as Government Efforts Boost Ease of Doing Business

In a bid to make the aviation sector more viable for doing business, the Nigerian Federal Government’s efforts have been hailed as positive by the CEO of Air Peace, Chief Allen Onyema. Speaking with journalists on Tuesday, Onyema praised the government’s commitment to promoting the ease of doing business, particularly in the aviation sector.

According to Onyema, his meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima at the presidential villa in Abuja earlier on Tuesday resulted in an encouraging conversation about the government’s initiatives to simplify the business environment. "I have just had a session with the Vice President and everything he said is that the government is promoting the ease of doing business," he said.

The Air Peace CEO also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo, who he believes is doing an exceptional job in improving the sector. "I can testify that the government is promoting the ease of doing business, especially in aviation. You can see the wonderful job Festus Keyamo is doing on that end," he added.

Onyema’s comments highlight the promising signs for the aviation industry in Nigeria, as the government works to create a more conducive business environment. The CEO’s words of encouragement also emphasize the importance of removing unnecessary charges and regulatory hurdles that can hinder the growth of the sector. "We are here to also thank the government because they have been giving us listening ears and we want more of that, to make sure all those numerous charges we face are removed and we have every confidence that the government will do something about it," he emphasized.

The news is a welcome development for those in the aviation sector, as it signals a renewed focus on making the industry more attractive to investors and stakeholders. With the government’s efforts, it is hoped that the aviation sector in Nigeria will thrive, creating opportunities for growth and economic development.
