Nigeria’s Power Sector Takes a Step Forward with the Launch of Hexing Livoltek

In a significant milestone for Nigeria’s power sector, the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has unveiled Hexing Livoltek, an electricity meter manufacturing company in Lekki, Lagos State. This development marks a major step towards a more efficient and equitable electricity sector in the country.

Aside from producing prepaid meters, Hexing Livoltek also manufactures other electrical installations and solar products. The company is a significant investment in Nigeria at a time when some players are divesting from the country’s energy sector.

Adelabu commended the firm for its commitment to the sector, stating that the launch of the meter factory represents a key achievement in the ongoing efforts to prioritize local content, foster job creation, and reduce Nigeria’s reliance on importation. He expressed his enthusiasm for the project, saying, "This is a significant milestone in the journey of the sector towards a more efficient and equitable electricity sector."

The minister highlighted the importance of local content, explaining that reliance on imports for power sector infrastructure has elongated the turnaround timing to fix Nigeria’s dilapidated infrastructure. He expressed optimism that the use of locally sourced materials will greatly reduce the timing required for fixing this infrastructure and fill the current gaps.

Hexing Livoltek’s CEO, Robert Liang, emphasized the company’s commitment to advancing clean energy in Nigeria, citing its three decades of experience in smart energy systems, solar technology, and digital infrastructure. He highlighted the company’s strategy of innovation, localization, and partnership, focusing on delivering solutions customised for Nigeria’s specific needs.

The launch of Hexing Livoltek is a significant step towards Nigeria’s energy revolution, driven by its dynamic economy and growing population. Reliable and sustainable energy is critical, and Hexing is committed to supporting this transition.

With the launch of Hexing Livoltek, Nigeria can look forward to a more efficient and equitable electricity sector, created by a local company that is committed to the country’s growth and development.
