Get Ready for Swashbuckling Adventure with Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii’s Latest Trailer

Fans of the Yakuza series, rejoice! A brand-new trailer for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii dropped at the Xbox Partner Preview event, giving gamers a glimpse into the game’s thrilling naval combat and eccentric protagonist Goro Majima’s latest adventure. Developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio also announced that the action-adventure spin-off will now hit stores on February 21, 2025, a week earlier than originally planned.

In this highly anticipated game, players will take on the role of Goro Majima, who wakes up on an island with no memories and soon finds himself captain of a pirate ship and crew, on the hunt for a coveted treasure. As revealed in the trailer, the game’s naval combat promises to be an exciting feature, allowing players to control and customize their ships and engage in action-packed battles on the high seas.

According to Hiroyuki Sakamoto, Like a Dragon series producer, players can expect a treasure trove of exciting experiences, including exploring multiple islands beyond the Hawaii setting, such as Rich Island and Madlantis, and competing with rival crews for hidden treasures. “Players can look forward to exciting cannon battles and a whole lot of action, both between ships and brawls,” Sakamoto said.

In addition to the new naval combat system, the game also introduces a pirate-focused fighting style, courtesy of Majima’s Mad Dog of Shimano persona. Players can dual-wield cutlass short swords, pistols, and other pirate tools in combat, ensuring an immersive and thrilling gaming experience.

The trailer also showcases Madlantis, a vibrant pirate township that serves as a hideout for gangs, a center of trade, and a hub of side activities. This bustling hub promises to be a highlight of the game, featuring a sprawling pleasure district and the Pirates’ Coliseum, where ships engage in heart-pumping naval battles.

Gamers can pre-order Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii across various platforms, including PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X. Those who pre-order will receive an exclusive bonus: adding Ichiban Kasuga, the protagonist from Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, and his trusty pet crawfish Nancy to their pirate crew. With this exciting new trailer and the game’s release date just around the corner, fans are sure to be hooked on this swashbuckling adventure.
