Adultery Scandal Rocks Nigerian Politics: Commissioner Arrested
A high-ranking Nigerian official has found himself at the center of a sex scandal, leading to his arrest by the Hisbah, a religious police force in Kano. Auwal Danladi Sankara, the Commissioner for Special Duties in Jigawa State, was taken into custody for allegedly committing adultery with a married woman.
According to sources within the Hisbah, the commissioner’s troubles began when the woman’s husband reported his suspicions to the authorities. An investigation was launched, and the Hisbah surveillance team was dispatched to monitor the movements of the suspects. The breakthrough came on Thursday night, around 10:00 pm, when the team spotted the commissioner and the woman entering an uncompleted building owned by him.
When the Hisbah team approached the building, they knocked on the gate, prompting the commissioner to come out and inquire about the visitors. To his surprise, he found himself face-to-face with the woman’s husband and the Hisbah personnel. The source revealed that the woman, realizing she had been caught, attempted to escape by driving her car towards the gate and ramming it into the gate.
After forcing her way out of the gate, the woman surrendered when she saw Hisbah vehicles blocking the road. The commissioner and the woman were taken to the Hisbah headquarters, where the commissioner allegedly confessed to committing adultery with her three times. The duo is currently being held at the Hisbah headquarters and is expected to face charges in court after investigation.
The Hisbah, a Sharia law enforcement agency, plays a significant role in maintaining moral standards in Kano and other parts of northern Nigeria. The agency’s actions are guided by Islamic law, which prohibits adultery and other forms of immoral behavior.
The arrest of the commissioner has sent shockwaves throughout Nigeria’s political landscape, highlighting the need for public officials to uphold high moral standards. As the case unfolds, it remains to be seen how the Nigerian government will respond to the allegations and what consequences the commissioner will face if found guilty.
