Lagos State Cracks Down on Lawlessness: 17 Miscreants Arrested by Environmental Sanitation Corps
In an effort to maintain public order and uphold the rule of law, the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps, also known as KAI, recently arrested no fewer than 17 miscreants in various areas of the state on Saturday. The crackdown was part of a broader initiative by the Lagos State Government to improve public safety and reduce disorderly behavior across the state.
State Commissioner for the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, revealed the details of the arrests in a social media post on Sunday. According to Commissioner Wahab, the miscreants were apprehended in areas such as Ile Epo, Abule Egba, Ikeja underbridge, and 7/8 by KAI operatives. In his words: “Seventeen miscreants from Ile Epo, Abule Egba, Ikeja underbridge, and 7/8 were apprehended yesterday by the operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps.”
This is not an isolated incident. On Friday, KAI officers had previously arrested several miscreants and squatters around Ozumba Mbadiwe in the Eti Osa area of the state. The string of arrests underscores the government’s commitment to ridding the state of unwholesome elements that tend to undermine public order.
The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps plays a vital role in maintaining environmental sustainability and promoting cleanliness across the state. Their efforts are geared toward making Lagos a more livable and prosperous place for all residents.
By taking these 17 miscreants off the streets, the Lagos State Government is sending a strong message that lawlessness will no longer be tolerated. As the state continues to grow and develop, public safety will remain a top priority.
