Nigeria’s APC Leader Boasts of Capturing South-West in Upcoming Ondo Election

The National Chairman of Nigeria’s All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, is confident that the party will emerge victorious in the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State. According to Ganduje, capturing Ondo is crucial in the APC’s strategy to gain control of all six states in the South-West region, which he believes will ultimately bolster President Bola Tinubu’s support in the 2027 general election.

To achieve this goal, Ganduje stressed that the APC must deliver 100% in favour of the party in the geopolitical zone, with Ondo State taking the lead. He also announced that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will serve as Chairman of the National Campaign Council to oversee the party’s efforts.

Speaking to stakeholders in Akure, Ganduje emphasized the importance of unity within the party. He encouraged those who contested the governorship ticket to put aside their differences and rally behind the incumbent Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the November election.

“The task at hand is to win the election,” Ganduje stated, “We must make sure that every house, every neighbour, every individual comes out to vote. We are expecting 90% votes in the forthcoming governorship election.”

The APC’s campaign chairman, Governor Sanwo-Olu, echoed Ganduje’s sentiments, stressing the party cannot afford to lose Ondo to the opposition. He believes that unity will propel the party to success, observing that “When we come together, we are even bigger than whatever force that wants to come within.”

Both Ganduje and Sanwo-Olu have maintained that a unified APC will make a stronger showing in the election, and with President Tinubu’s full support, the party is determined to emerge victorious in November.
