Xiaomi Confirms New 15 Series with Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset, Launch Expected Soon

Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi has confirmed its latest series, the Xiaomi 15, will debut by the end of October. The new lineup is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset from Qualcomm and is expected to launch alongside the HyperOS 2.0 update, based on Android 15.

While Xiaomi has not officially announced the launch date, a recent report suggests it will take place next week. A leaked poster on the Xiaomi Community app, shared by XiaomiTime, reveals the launch date as October 29 at 7:00 pm local time. The poster’s tagline, “see every light,” hints at the impressive camera capabilities of the upcoming series.

The Xiaomi 15 is expected to boast a 6.36-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, paired with a triple rear camera setup, comprising 50-megapixel primary, ultra-wide-angle, and telephoto lenses. The brand is also expected to unveil the HyperOS 2.0 skin, which will likely bring several AI-powered features.

Initially, the Xiaomi 15 series will be limited to China, but the handsets are expected to make their way to global markets in the coming months. According to Xiaomi SVP Adam Zeng, the Xiaomi 15 will be the first smartphone to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC globally, along with Xiaomi’s HyperCore technology.

Specifications of the Xiaomi 15 include a 6.36-inch flat AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Leica-branded triple rear camera setup, a 5,500mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging support, and up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of in-built storage. The device may also feature an IP68 rating.

Xiaomi fans can look forward to the launch of the Xiaomi 15 series, which promises to deliver impressive performance and camera capabilities. With the global launch expected in the coming months, it won’t be long before the new series becomes available worldwide.
