PDP Can’t Be Reduced to Two Individuals, Ologbondiyan Tells Atiku, Wike

In a move aimed at promoting unity within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kola Ologbondiyan, the party’s former national publicity secretary, has urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike to put aside their differences. According to Ologbondiyan, this would allow the party to function without being overshadowed by the views of these two prominent figures.

During a chat on Channels Television’s Morning Brief, Ologbondiyan emphasized that the PDP is a vast entity with millions of members. He noted that it is crucial not to reduce the party’s stance to the opinions of Atiku and Wike’s factions.

Ologbondiyan expressed his desire for the PDP to operate freely without being dominated by the issues surrounding Atiku and Wike. "The PDP is larger than two individuals," he stated. "It is a party of millions of people, and we cannot permanently reduce it to the level of what one side or the other is saying." He also highlighted the existence of party members who do not identify with either side and have moved past the 2023 election and convention.

Ologbondiyan’s call for unity is a step toward resolving the internal conflicts within the PDP. The party’s ability to move beyond individual interests and factional divisions will be crucial in determining its future success. By appealing to Atiku and Wike to set aside their differences, Ologbondiyan is promoting a sense of unity and cooperation that could ultimately benefit the party as a whole.

As the PDP continues to navigate its internal dynamics, it remains to be seen whether Atiku and Wike will heed Ologbondiyan’s call for unity. One thing is certain, however: the party’s ability to put aside individual interests and work toward a common goal will be essential in shaping its future.
