Nigeria: Minister Orders Arrest of Notorious Bandit Bello Turji

Nigeria’s Minister of Defence Orders Troops to Intensify Efforts to Capture Notorious Bandit Bello Turji

In a bold move to combat insecurity in Nigeria’s Northwest region, the Minister of Defence, Mohammad Badaru, has instructed troops of Operation Fansar Yamma to ramp up their efforts to arrest the notorious bandit leader, Bello Turji. The minister delivered this order on Thursday during a visit to the One Brigade Headquarters in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State.

During his address to the troops, Badaru revealed that President Bola Tinubu has been closely monitoring the activities of the troops over the past few months and has observed some improvements in the operation against terrorists in the region. The President has expressed his appreciation for the troops’ efforts and has pledged to provide them with all the necessary support to end insecurity in the region.

“The President has asked me to thank you and to urge you to do more to end insecurity in these areas of operation and the country,” Badaru quoted President Tinubu as saying. “He is ready to provide all you need to end insecurity in the Northwest and Nigeria.”

Badaru expressed his satisfaction with the briefings he received from the commanding officer and reiterated his confidence in the troops’ ability to capture the elusive bandit leader. “I had some reassurances from the commanding officer and was pleased,” he said. “I’m sure that we will reach the goal. Are you ready to finish with them? Are you ready to end it? Please get me Turji.”

The Minister’s visit to Operation Fansar Yamma in Gusau was aimed at taking briefings on military operations, and he was received by the Commander, Joint Taskforce Northwest Operation Fansar Yamma, Major General Oluyinka Soyele, and the deputy governor of Zamfara State, Mani Mumuni, among other dignitaries.

This development marks a significant escalation in the Nigerian military’s efforts to combat the activities of bandits and terrorists in the Northwest region. With the President’s full support, the troops are now more determined than ever to bring an end to the insecurity plaguing the region.
