Dangote Refinery Denies Payments from IPMAN for Petroleum Products

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has firmly stated that it has not received any payments from the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) for the purchase of refined petroleum products. The refinery issued this clarification in a statement signed by Anthony Chiejina, the Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer, and sent to Media Talk Africa on Thursday night.

In the statement, the company noted that while discussions with IPMAN are ongoing, it is misleading to imply that IPMAN members are facing difficulties in loading refined products from the refinery. The statement emphasized that there are currently no direct business dealings between the refinery and IPMAN, meaning that Dangote cannot be held accountable for any payments made to other entities.

Furthermore, the refinery clarified that any payments related to the purchase of petroleum products were processed through the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), not through Dangote Refinery itself. The company also pointed out that NNPCL has neither approved nor authorized the refinery to supply its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to IPMAN.

Additionally, Dangote Refinery reassured stakeholders of its capacity to meet Nigeria’s demand for all petroleum products, stating it can load up to 2,900 trucks each day. This operational capability underscores the refinery’s role in stabilizing the country’s fuel supply and fulfilling the needs of consumers across Nigeria.
