Social media personality Okuneye Idris, widely known as Bobrisky, was reportedly removed from an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight on Thursday night, as seen in a viral video circulating on X. The incident has drawn significant attention, with Bobrisky later alleging on social media that he was detained by Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The drama unfolded after Nigerian social commentator Isaac Fayose, the brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, shared an Instagram post showing himself and Bobrisky on the same flight, apparently headed to London. “Look who’s on the same flight with me to London, @Bobrisky222,” Fayose wrote, capturing a moment before Bobrisky’s sudden removal by airport officials.
Following his removal, Bobrisky took to Instagram to share his distress, posting, “Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured.” He did not provide further details, but his message triggered widespread speculation online, with supporters and followers expressing concern over his welfare.
This latest development adds to Bobrisky’s ongoing legal challenges. On October 22, he was intercepted at the Sème border under suspicions of attempting to leave Nigeria following an earlier sentencing. Back in April 2024, the Federal High Court in Lagos sentenced him to six months in prison for currency abuse, marking the beginning of his high-profile run-ins with authorities.
While further information from officials has yet to be released, the story continues to generate conversation on social media, as users await clarification on the nature of Bobrisky’s latest confrontation with law enforcement.
