Ademola Lookman Calls for Consistency from Super Eagles Ahead of Major Tournaments

Ademola Lookman, the Atalanta forward, has emphasized the need for the Super Eagles to maintain consistency as they prepare for upcoming international competitions. Following a successful run in the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where the team remains unbeaten with three wins and one draw, Lookman is keen to build on this momentum.

In contrast, the Super Eagles have struggled in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, failing to secure a victory after four matches. This inconsistency has raised concerns about the team’s performance on the global stage. Lookman believes that improvement is essential for the team’s overall success.

“We’ve shown good performances as a team in these AFCON qualifiers, and now we need to do better on a consistent basis,” Lookman stated in an interview with 54footballx. He added, “We’ve won two games and drawn one game, so we will continue in this manner and try to win our games.”

The 25-year-old forward is determined to help the Super Eagles qualify for both the AFCON and the World Cup. “Obviously, the goal is to qualify for the AFCON and World Cup, so we are looking to do those things,” he noted.

As the Super Eagles gear up for their next challenges, the focus remains on translating their current success in AFCON qualifiers into a stronger showing in the World Cup qualifiers. Lookman’s call for consistency could be crucial as the team aims to secure its place in the prestigious tournaments ahead.
