The collective wealth of Russia’s wealthiest individuals surged by more than $26 billion since January 2024, as recorded by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. This increase brought the total worth of the top 25 Russian billionaires to approximately $355.33 billion, positioning them among the world’s 500 richest as of November 1.

Vladimir Potanin, owner of Norilsk Nickel, retained his title as Russia’s wealthiest, holding the 55th spot globally. Potanin’s wealth rose by $1.2 billion this year, reaching an estimated $32.2 billion. The most significant gain, however, came from Vladimir Lisin, chairman of steel giant NLMK. Lisin’s wealth jumped by $4.81 billion to $28.8 billion, propelling him up the ranks of Russia’s elite.

Other notable increases included former Lukoil chief Vagit Alekperov, whose fortune grew by $2.78 billion to $27.4 billion, and Severstal chairman Aleksey Mordashov, who saw a $4.75 billion rise, bringing his net worth to $25.6 billion. Not all fortunes fared equally well. Alisher Usmanov, co-owner of USM investment group, saw his net worth dip by $6.46 billion, standing at $14.6 billion by November.

The Bloomberg list also featured notable names like Telegram founder Pavel Durov, Russia’s wealthiest woman Tatyana Kim, and key industry figures Andrey Melnichenko, Mikhail Prokhorov, Gennady Timchenko, and Mikhail Fridman.
