Kunle Afolayan, renowned Nigerian filmmaker and actor, is mourning the loss of his beloved mother, Omoladun Afolayan, who passed away at 81. Confirming her death, Kunle shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram, expressing gratitude for her long life and legacy.
In his post, Kunle wrote, “It is hard to accept, but she surely lived a good life. Our mother, Maami Omoladun Ayanladun Afolayan, has gone to rest. (1943-2024).” He added that she is survived by her children and grandchildren, asking for prayers during this difficult time.
Kunle’s brother, actor Gabriel Afolayan, also paid tribute to their mother. He shared on social media, “Home is not cool. We lost a very dear one.” Recalling fond memories, he expressed deep affection, saying, “You’d be greatly missed, big mummy (Iya Oyo). We all love you to bits. I will miss my gist and dance partner. Rest on #maami.”
