Seek God's guidance for national unity, economic stability — Gov Abiodun urges church leaders

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has called on religious leaders to continue seeking divine guidance to foster unity and economic stability in Nigeria, emphasizing the need for consistent prayers for political leaders across the country.

The governor made the appeal on Sunday at the 75th Diamond Adoption Thanksgiving Service of the Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim, Yewa Provincial Headquarters, held in Ilaro. He noted that with the steadfast prayers of spiritual leaders, Nigeria could overcome its challenges and strengthen its foundations in all aspects.

Represented by the Ogun State Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, Abiodun underscored the importance of religious harmony for peaceful coexistence and the safety of lives and property in the state. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to maintaining a non-partisan stance in religious matters, while supporting programs that uphold freedom of worship and mutual respect.

The governor encouraged church members to continue fostering unity within the congregation and to align with his administration’s “Building Our Future Together” agenda by promoting positive values. He expressed gratitude to the church for its spiritual support and its role as a source of hope and encouragement, particularly during challenging times.

Also in attendance was Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, represented by his sister, Snr. Mother in Israel Dupe Adeleke-Sanni, who urged the congregation to uphold the church’s values and ethics. Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Oludaisi Elemide, commended the church leaders and congregation, attributing the nation’s progress to their steadfast prayers.

The event was marked by a shared commitment to unity, development, and the common good among the attendees, reflecting the positive influence of spiritual guidance on Nigeria’s path forward.
