WWE Hall of Famer Sees Shane McMahon as Perfect Fit for Leadership Role in AEW

For months, rumors have circulated about Shane McMahon potentially joining All Elite Wrestling (AEW), especially after a surprising photo surfaced of McMahon meeting with AEW CEO Tony Khan. Wrestling fans have speculated that “Shane-O-Mac” might step into the company’s ongoing storyline, which involves the Blackpool Combat Club and champion Jon Moxley in a takeover attempt.

In a recent interview on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall of Famer and former AEW personality Mark Henry shared his thoughts on the topic, arguing that McMahon would bring a strong, directive presence to the AEW leadership. “If you get paid $3-5 million to go in and tell everybody what to do, that’s exactly what AEW needs,” Henry remarked, emphasizing that AEW lacks the “power” and structure McMahon could instill.

Meanwhile, wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer floated a different theory, suggesting that McMahon might be using AEW as leverage for a possible return to WWE. Speaking on Keepin’ It 100 OFFICIAL, Meltzer speculated, “Shane could be angling for a WWE comeback by hinting at joining AEW.”

The wrestling community remains divided on the potential move, and only time will reveal if Shane McMahon will indeed make his debut in AEW—or if the speculation is a step toward WWE negotiations.
