Samsung is reportedly set to expand its Galaxy S25 lineup in 2025 with a new model called the Galaxy S25 Slim, marking a shift in the company’s typical series, which usually includes only a base, Plus, and Ultra variant. The Slim version, expected to be a thinner, sleeker model, appears to be positioned as a direct competitor to Apple’s anticipated iPhone 17 Slim or iPhone 17 Air.
The Galaxy S25 Slim recently appeared on the IMEI database, where it was listed under the model number SM-S937. The listing also included a U.S. variant, SM-S937U, suggesting a global launch for the Slim version. This model would join the Galaxy S25 series alongside other anticipated models, such as the Galaxy S25 (SM-S931), Galaxy S25+ (SM-S936), and Galaxy S25 Ultra (SM-S938).
While details about the Galaxy S25 Slim’s specific features remain scarce, it is expected to offer a streamlined version of the base model, possibly with fewer advanced features and a lower price point, similar to Samsung’s Fan Edition strategy. The slimmer design and anticipated lower cost may attract customers seeking a more affordable, stylish alternative within the Galaxy S25 series.
An earlier report suggested that the Galaxy S25 Slim is expected to be introduced in Q2 of 2025, several months after the main Galaxy S25 series launch, which is likely set for early 2025. Samsung is reportedly planning a limited initial release of the Slim model to gauge consumer interest and response.
All Galaxy S25 variants, including the Slim model, are expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, promising top-tier performance. With Samsung recently confirming the Galaxy S25 lineup’s first-half 2025 release, a more precise launch date is likely to follow in the coming months.
